Los Angeles Chargers Add Former Wagner Assistant Adam Fuller

Los Angeles, CA – Former Wagner assistant football coach Adam Fuller (1999-2004) has been named safeties coach for the NFL's Los Angeles Chargers.

Fuller most recently served as the defensive coordinator at Florida State for five seasons (2020-2024), where he coached 14 eventual NFL Draft selections, including 2024 Associated Press Defensive Rookie of the Year Jared Verse.

He began his coaching career at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1998 before joining Wagner, where he spent six seasons (1999-2004). During his time on Grymes Hill, Fuller coached the defensive line, linebackers, and secondary before earning a promotion to co-defensive coordinator in 2004. Under his leadership, Wagner's defense ranked in the national top 10 in both 2002 and 2003, and he coached the program's all-time leading punt returner.

Fuller then moved on to Richmond (2005-2007), contributing to two conference championships for the Spiders. In 2008, he was named head coach at Assumption College before serving as the defensive coordinator at Chattanooga (2009-2012). He later spent six seasons (2013-2018) at Marshall in various roles, helping lead the Thundering Herd to four Bowl appearances and a Conference-USA Championship. In 2019, he took on the role of defensive coordinator at Memphis.

The position with the Chargers marks Fuller's first full-time role in the NFL.
