STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Wagner College women's basketball team hosts MAAC member Iona for a Monday night tip-off on NEC Front Row.. The Seahawks-Gaels matchup is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Spiro Sports Center.

Junior Lijirin Doyinsola Modesayor recorded her second double-double of the season against Lafayette with a 17-point 10-rebound performance on Tuesday. Modesayor scored 15-points and grabbed 12 rebounds at NJIT on November 11. Modesayor has recorded three double-doubles as a Seahawk, all of which have come in her last 10 games. Doyinsola Modesayor has attempted the most free throws in the NEC with 32.
Sophomore Keana Foz ranks second in the NEC with 2.0 steals per game.
Wagner grabbed 25 offensive rebounds against Lafayette, the most in one game since the 2021-22 season. With 17.6 offensive rebounds, Wagner ranks tied for 18th in the nation in the category.
Crash The Glass
The Green & White grabbed a season-high 25 offensive rebounds against Lafayette. The last time the Seahawks corralled 25 offensive rebounds in a game was on 2/17/2022 against Sacred Heart. Wagner grabbed 44 rebounds in each of the Seahawks' first three games before grabbing 46 against Lafayette.
Irene's Return
After missing the first three games of the year due to a wrist injury, senior Irene Fernandez de Caleya scored five points and added three rebounds in her season debut. Last season, Fernandez de Caleya appeared in 19 games, making five starts while averaging 3.3 points and 3.9 rebounds. In her first start of the season against Lafayette, Fernandez de Caleya scored five points and grabbed five rebounds in 25 minutes of action.
The Non-Con Road Ahead
Wagner completes a three-game home stand to round out the month against Cornell on Sunday, November 30. The Seahawks head back onto the road for a three-game road trip at Columbia on December 6 before heading to Rider on December 13 and University of Rhode Island on December 19. The Green & White wrap up the 2025 year with a matchup against NJCU on December 30 at Spiro.
The Series
The Gaels own a 13-4 all-time record over the Seahawks, winning the last eight matchups. The last time Wagner took down Iona was back on November 29, 2003, as the Seahawks won 93-77 in New Rochelle. Iona has won the last five meetings and nine of the last 10.
Scouting Iona
The Gaels come into Spiro Sports Center with a 2-2 record, riding a two-game losing streak with losses against Charleston and Davidson. Graduate student Isabellah Middleton averages 13.8 points and 6.3 rebounds while junior Zoey Ward scores 10.8 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. The Gales lead the MAAC grabbing 39.3 total rebounds and 14.3 offensive rebounds per game.
