NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Wagner College field hockey team suffered a 4-0 loss to Ivy League member Columbia at the Baker Athletics Complex on Sunday afternoon.
The Seahawks (6-9, 5-2 NEC) attempted five shots, three of which were on target compared to the Lions (6-6, 1-4 Ivy League) who put up eight shots, all of which were on goal.
Wagner earned seven penalty corners, with six occurring in the second half, while Columbia attempted five penalty corners of its own.
On the field, junior Floortje Leunisse and freshman Julia de Leeuw both put shots on target for the Seahawks. In the cage, sophomore Saar van Dalen saved four shots to bring her season total up to 75 to go along with her six wins.
Next up, Wagner will pick back up with conference play as the Seahawks take on Stonehill for a 3:00 p.m. meeting on Friday, October 26 in North Easton, MA.
