South Orange, NJ - The Wagner Swim & Dive teams faced Seton Hall in a dual meet on Friday. The women's team came up short against the Pirates, losing 122-98, while the men's team was defeated 159-64.
For the women, sophomore
Rebekka Luoto had a standout performance, claiming first place in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:10.10 and in the 100-yard backstroke, clocking in at 58.83. Luoto also contributed to a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay, teaming up with graduate student
Allie D'Allegro, senior
Shamiya Guirre, and freshman
Lovisa Ramsten to finish with a time of 1:47.45.
D'Allegro secured another victory for the Seahawks by taking first place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:06.42. Freshman
Lovisa Ramsten also made her mark by winning the 100-yard butterfly in 58.65. The women's 200-yard freestyle relay team, consisting of
Shamiya Guirre, senior
Madison Petricevic, sophomore Daniela Liranzo, and freshman
Mia Goodale, earned a second-place finish with a time of 1:42.46.
On the men's side, senior
Robert Wagner led the charge by winning the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 51.55. Wagner also contributed to a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay alongside graduate student
Enrico Mancardo and sophomores Manuel Villalpando and Adrian Andes Moreno, clocking in at 1:34.07.
In the 100-yard breaststroke, Moreno took first place with a time of 58.29, while freshman
Max Wameling secured second place with a time of 59.46. The men's 200-yard freestyle relay team, composed of
Robert Wagner, juniors Joel Knappi and
Alex Magditch, and sophomore
Seenan Noonan, finished in second place with a time of 1:25.61.
The Seahawks will next host LIU on Friday, January 31st, at the Spiro Sports Center.
