Women’s Basketball Set To Travel To Mercyhurst

Staten Island, NY -  The Wagner Seahawks will play against Mercyhurst on January 18 at 1 PM at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center in Erie, PA.

The Series

The matchup marks the first meeting all-time between the squads.

Scouting the Lakers

The NEC newcomer Lakers are 4-11 overall. They most recently fell to FDU, 77-63, at home.

Junior forward Bailey Kuhns leads the NEC in scoring (19.4). Kuhns also leads the team in rebounding (4.9).

The Lakers shoot the best FG% in the NEC (41.1).

Welcome Back Taleah

After missing the first 10 games of the season, Taleah Washington made herseason debut on December 21 against Columbia. Last game against Old Westbury, Washington set a new program record with a career-high 22 assists. She passed Alice Burgos' 1989 record of 16 assist. 
22 assists is the second most all-time in NCAAW history.

Fabozzi Continues To Impress

The Staten Island native scored a career-high 38 points and grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds against Old Westbury. 38 points is tied for tenth all-time in Wagner history. Fabozzi scored the go-ahead basket against NJIT to seal the game with 1.8 remaining. The graduate student ranks third in the NEC in points per game (15.7). Fabozzi returns after playing seven games last season after missing most of the year with a knee injury

The Emergence Of Keana Foz 

Keana Foz has started every game this season for the Green & White. Foz holds the top spot in the NEC in steals per game (2.4). Along with being first in the conference in steals, Foz ranks 12th in assists per game (2.4).

Earlier this season, Foz was named the NEC's Rookie of the Week. In two games, she averaged 12 points per game, 3.5 assists and 3 rebounds. Foz was also named to the 2024 FIU Thanksgiving Classic All-Tournament Team.

Seahawks Amongst The NEC

Wagner ranks first in the NEC blocks per game (3.3) and sits fifth in the conference in conference record.
