Box Score Little Silver, NJ - The Wagner College women's tennis team took on Monmouth in its first dual match of the season on Saturday, September 28. To avoid the inclement weather, the event was moved indoors to Little Silver Racquet Club in Little Silver, NJ. 

In doubles play, the Seahawks took one out of three matches with the duo of Liepa Sataite and Dariana Vera pair winning their first match together.

Sataite, a freshman from Lithuania, also won her first match of the season playing out of the number one spot in the lineup.

The Seahawks' only other victory came out the number two spot in the lineup, as graduate student Daniela Hernandez, won her first singles match.

Despite the success at the top of the singles rotation, Wagner fell to Monmouth 5-2 in its first dual match of the season.

Next up, Wagner is set to compete at the Flushing Meadows Park in Queens. This match will count as the Seahawks' first home match of the season as they welcome Holy Cross in a dual match.
