Two Returning Women’s Tennis Players Place Third at the NEC Individual Tournament

Binghamton, NY - Over the weekend, the women's tennis team participated in the NEC Indiividual Tournament, hosted for the first time during the fall semester.

The tournament is arranged into multiple brackets between the various positions in the tennis lineup competing against their counterparts at the other NEC schools.

The individual winners of each bracket will be selected to represent the Northeast Conference at Intercollegiate Tennis Association Master's in San Diego, CA at the end of the fall season.

In singles play, two returners starred for the Seahawks as sophomore Dariana Vera and junior Jasmine Lin each placed third in their respective singles draws. Lin especially played well in the second set of her first round matchup, where she didn't drop a single game.

Daniela Hernandez also won her first match as part of the A Singles Draw before dropping her second round matchup.

The only pair to win a doubles match for Wagner at the tournament were freshman Victoria Madail and sophomore Dariana Vera.

Next Saturday, the Seahawks will hit the road as they take on Monmouth on their home courts in a dual match.
