Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College women's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference contest to Columbia, 16-8, at Hameline Field on Wednesday evening.
The Lions jumped out to a 3-0 lead before graduate student Megan Greco got the Seahawks on the board with 7:03 remaining in the first quarter. Senior Kelsey Scheidel added a goal in the first quarter as the Lions took a 5-2 lead into the second quarter.
Columbia outscored Wagner 5-3 in the second quarter as Kelsey Scheidel recorded a hat trick in the second quarter as Columbia took a 10-5 lead into halftime.
Graduate student Nia Scott and junior Ella Marino found the back of the net for the Green & White in the third quarter, the Lions outscored the Seahawks 3-2 in the frame to take a 13-7 lead into the final quarter.
Nia Scott scored the lone Wagner goal of the fourth quarter as the Lions earned the victory.
Wagner will welcome Stonehill to Hameline Field on Saturday, April 6 at 12:00 pm.
