Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College women's lacrosse team punched its ticket to the Northeast Conference (NEC) Tournament with a 16-6 win over Delaware State in the regular season finale at Hameline Field on Wednesday evening.
The Seahawks outscored the Hornets 9-0 in the opening quarter, eight different goal scorers found the back of the net for Wagner as graduate student Megan Greco led the way with two goals. Along with Greco, graduate student Nia Scott, juniors Ella Marino and Sophia Colver, sophomore Mia Williams and freshmen Lea Cini, Amelia Logan, and Sydney Ecker all scored in the first quarter.
Wagner outscored Delaware State 2-1 in the second quarter as juniors Kendall Tabobandung and Kendra Hall found the back of the net. Wagner took an 11-1 advantage into the second half.
Delaware State outscored Wagner 3-2 in the third quarter, Nia Scott and Syndey Ecker each found the back of the net in the third quarter.
Wagner found the back of the net three times in the fourth quarter as seniors Juliann Fabiano and Ryan Murphy scored. Lea Cini chipped in her second goal of the game in the fourth quarter.
Wagner will travel to Syracuse, NY for the NEC Quarterfinals where they will take on Le Moyne on Sunday, April 28 at 12:00 pm.
