Women's Golf Competes At Navy Spring Invitational

The Wagner women's golf team competed at the Navy Spring Invitational this weekend, finishing in 11th place.

Junior Aisha Rodriguez paced the Seahawks, tying for 48th place with a two round total of 172 (+28). Rodriguez shot an 89 (+17) in round one, but bounced back with an 83 (+11) in round two.

Next on the leaderboard for the Seahawks were sophomores Josephine Sawyer and Rileigh Leighton. Sawyer shot a 178 (+34) and recorded a team-low 83 in round two, while Leighton shot a 179 (+35). The duo finished in a tie for 56th and 59th place, respectively.

Rounding out the Wagner golfers were juniors Elise Fujita and Ximena de la Garza. Fujita finished in 63rd place with a two round total of 180 (+36), while de la Garza tied for 65th place after shooting a 184 (+40).

The Green & White will set their sights on the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship this weekend, which begins on Friday, April 19, at Callaway Resort Gardens in Pine Mountain, GA.
