Washington, DC - The Wagner College women's lacrosse team picked up a Northeast Conference (NEC) win at Howard, 19-8 on Saturday.
The win snaps a two-game losing streak for the Seahawks.
The Seahawks opened the contest on a 4-0 run, the run was sparked by senior Kelsey Scheidel as she found the back of the net twice during the run. Graduate student Megan Greco found the back of the net twice in the first along with junior's Kendra Hall, Ella Marino, and Sophia Colver. The Green & White took a 7-2 lead into the second quarter.
The Seahawks and the Bison each scored four goals in the second quarter, Kelsey Scheidel added her third goal of the game as Sophia Colver added her second. Sophomore Emily Ryan and freshman Sydney Ecker each netted goals in the second quarter.
Scheidel added two more goals in the third quarter while Megan Greco completed her hat trick, the Seahawks went on to outscore the Bison 3-1 in the third quarter.
Wagner found the back of the net five times in the fourth quarter, Scheidel added her sixth goal as Greco added her fourth goal of the game. Kendra Hall and Sydney Ecker both found the back of the net for the second time while sophomore Kristina Pisano added a goal late in the fourth quarter.
Scheidel's six goals led the Seahawks while she also chipped in two assists. Megan Greco scored four goals in the win.
The victory for the Seahawks puts them at 3-6 overall and 3-2 in NEC play.
Wagner will wrap up non-conference play on Wednesday, April 3 when they welcome Columbia to Hameline Field at 6:00 pm.
