Women's Golf Competes At Intercollegiate At Prospect Bay

The Wagner women's golf team competed at the Intercollegiate at Prospect Bay at Prospect Bay Country Club on Friday and Saturday, finishing in tenth place out of 12 teams.

Junior Ximena de la Garza led the way for Wagner after shooting a 247 (+31), placing in 31st. De la Garza's best round came in the second as she shot an 80 (+8) between her rounds of 84 and 83, respectively.

Next on the leaderboard for the Seahawks was junior Aisha Rodriguez, who placed 51st and shot a 264 (+48). Junior Elise Fujita followed Rodriguez, shooting a 268 (+52).

Rounding out the Seahawk golfers were sophomores Rileigh Leighton (+54), Lillian McNally (+62) and Emma Shelby (+65).

Wagner will be back in action in short order when it takes on Monmouth in the second dual match of the season on Tuesday. The last time these two met was on October 17 in Colts Neck, NJ, at the Vanessa Picciotto Perrine Memorial Invitational. The Hawks emerged victorious, 4-1.
