Dayton, OH - The #16-seed Wagner College men's basketball team is slated to play #16-seed Howard in Dayton, OH, at UD Arena as a part of the First Four in the 2024 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament on Tuesday, March 19.
The Seahawks will square off with the Bison on the tournament's first day, with tip-off set for 6:40 p.m. The game will be broadcast on truTV.
Howard (18-16, 9-5 MEAC), as the #4-seed in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), took home its second consecutive MEAC tournament title after knocking off top-seeded Norfolk State in the semi-finals and #6-seed Delaware State in the championship game.
Wagner is 1-0 all-time versus Howard, defeating the Bison, 79-54, during the 1997-98 season.
In his second season at the helm, head coach Donald Copeland led the Seahawks to an unprecedented Northeast Conference (NEC) title last Tuesday. The #6-seed Wagner rattled off three straight road wins against the top-three seeds in the conference to clinch its first NCAA Tournament berth since 2003.
