New York, NY | Newark, NJ - The Wagner College women's tennis team defeated Norfolk State on Saturday, February 24 with a score of 4-1 before falling to NJIT on Sunday, February 25 with a score of 0-5. 

Against Norfolk State, sophomore Samantha Bentsianov and freshman Dariana Vera earned the first victory in doubles action for the Seahawks, with a score of 6-2. Then, juniors Jade Schoenfeld and Paula Ysabelle Uy defeated Norfolk State's Gabriela Davidescu and Irina Ioana Iurea (6-1). 

In singles, senior Gabrielle Perraudin won the first match with a score of 6-0, 6-3. Ysabelle Uy would then earn her second win of the day, defeating Alessia Stan 6-4, 6-3. Sophomore Jasmine Lin won her singles match with a score of 6-1, 6-2 forcing a clinch for the Seahawks. 

On Sunday, the Seahawks dropped three doubles matches against NJIT before dropping five singles matches falling to the Highlanders. NJIT would prevail over Wagner, 0-5.

Next up, Wagner will host FDU on Friday, March 1 at the College of Staten Island (CSI) indoor tennis courts.
