Council Continues To Impress
Junior
Melvin Council Jr. was once again named a Northeast Conference (NEC) Prime Performer. Council hit the game-winner with two seconds remaining in overtime led the Seahawks to a 65-63 overtime win at Saint Francis U on Thursday night. The first-year Seahawk averaged 17.5 points last week and ranks fifth in the conference in scoring (14.8), ninth in rebounding (5.7), eighth in assists, fifth in FT% (.786) and ninth in steals (1.5).

At 62.8 points per game, Wagner is 9th in the country in scoring defense while also leading the Northeast Conference (NEC).

Defensively, the Seahawks hold teams to 30.2% shooting from long range, good for 25
th in the country.
Offensively, Wagner is 5-1 when connecting on nine or more threes per game.
The Key
Sophomore
Keyontae Lewis registered his first back-to-back double-digit scoring games of the season last week. He just missed out on a double-double with 11 points and nine caroms against SHU on Saturday. Lewis is shooting an NEC-best 63.2 percent from the floor in conference games.

Wagner's 10 turnovers per game are 32nd in the country and first in the NEC. As a team Wagner's assist/turnover ratio of 1.33 leads the NEC. Individually, the Seahawks have two of the top three players in the NEC in assist/turnover ratio in junior

Allen Heating Up
Junior
Tahron Allen ranks second on the team with 10 points per game and 5.0 rebounds per game, and enters the week shooting 50 percent (20-40) from three-point range on the year. The first-year Seahawk has scored in double figures in four of Wagner's last five games.
The Season Series
In the first meeting between the two teams, Wagner fell 69-68 in overtime after being limited to just six players throughout the contest.
Wagner holds a 35-23 lead in the all-time head-to-head series, which began in 1939, and includes seven wins over the Blue Devils in the last 10 matchups between the two teams.
Last year, the two teams split the regular season series, with each team defending its home court in the process.
Scouting The Blue Devils
CCSU enters Thursday's game with a 15-10 overall record, including a 9-3 mark in NEC action. The Blue Devils have won two out of their last three games, but suffered a road loss at Le Moyne in their last outing.
