This Week In Wagner Athletics; 11 Teams In Action As Spring Sports Begin

Staten Island, NY - Here is a look at the Wagner Athletics events for this week.

Men's Basketball
- The Seahawks will travel to Saint Francis U on Thursday before taking on Sacred Heart in a nationally televised contest on Saturday at the Spiro Sports Center. 
- Wagner earned a road victory on Thursday at FDU
- Junior Tahron Allen earned NEC Prime Performer honors after contributing 22 points, including a clutch basket in the final minute.

Women's Basketball
- Wagner will welcome Saint Francis U to the Spiro Sports Center on Thursday, February 15, tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
- The Seahawks will then travel to Fairfield, CT to take on Sacred Heart, tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 pm.
- Last week, Wagner dropped a conference contest at FDU, 63-53.

Women's Lacrosse
- Wagner will open the 2024 season at Drexel on Wednesday, February 14 at 2:00 pm.

Men's Lacrosse
- Wagner will host Le Moyne for its home opener on Saturday, February 17 at 12:00 pm.
- The Seahawks dropped their season opener at Hofstra on February 3, 21-9.

Baseball
- Wagner will kick off its 2024 season in North Carolina when it takes on No. 15 UNC-Chapel Hill for a three-game series. First pitch for game one is scheduled for Friday, February 16 at 4:00 pm.
- The Seahawks are looking to take the next step after advancing to the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship Game last season.

Softball
- Wagner will open its season at the Hampton Invitational beginning on Friday, February 16. The Seahawks will take on Norfolk State on Friday before taking on Hampton and Coppin State on Saturday.

Women's Water Polo 
- The Seahawks will travel to Princeton to take on Bucknell and San Diego State University at the DeNunzio Pool on Saturday, February 17 and Sunday, February 18.
- Last time out, Wagner went undefeated at the Bison Invitational from Saturday, February 10 to Sunday, February 11.
- The Green & White are 10-2 on the season, with a 1-0 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) record after a 12-4 victory over La Salle on Sunday.

Track & Field
- Wagner will compete at the NEC Indoor Championships at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex from Sunday, February 18 to Monday, February 19.
- The men's team are looking to secure their fourth straight NEC indoor track & field title, after scoring 151 points at last year's Championships
- Throughout the season, the Green & White have amassed five Track Athlete of the Week, four Field Athlete of the Week, and 10 Rookie of the Week honors between the women's and men's teams.

Men's Tennis
- The Seahawks will head to Pennsylvania this Friday, February 16 to take on Villanova before hosting Sacred Heart on Sunday, February 17 at the College of Staten Island (CSI) indoor tennis courts. 
- Last time out, Wagner fell to Le Moyne in its season opener on Sunday, February 11. 

Women's Tennis
- Wagner women's tennis will host Sacred Heart on Sunday, February 18 at the College of Staten Island (CSI) indoor tennis courts. 
- Last time out, the Seahawks fell to Le Moyne last Sunday, February 11 with a score of 4-2. Seniors Tara Dakic and Gabrielle Perraudin both put up valiant efforts in their singles matches both going to three sets. Perraudin and junior Pula Ysabelle Uy both secured wins in singles. 

Women's Bowling
- Wagner will take part in the third installment of the NEC meet this Saturday, February 17 to Sunday, February 18.
- Last time out, the Seahawks placed 9th at the Griffin Baker Classic at Chestnut Hill College, coming away with an overall record of 5-2 on the weekend.
