Biography

Junior (2022-23): Earned eight victories as a #1 and #2 position player for the Seahawks. Both Dakic and Gabrielle Perraudin ended the season with four victories at #1 position, and Dakic added four victories at the #2 position. Dakic's #2 singles win percentage was sixth best in the conference with a .571%. Dakic won five matches in doubles competition. 

Sophomore (2021-22): Earned seven victories including a victory in straight sets against the #2 player for Wilmington University, Fairfield, and NJCU. Tara spent most of the season as the #2 singles player for the Seahawks.

Freshman (2020-21): Made her Wagner debut at No. 3 play against St. John's (3/5/21). Earned her first career collegiate win at Mount St. Mary's Riya Mathur, 7-5, 6-3 (4/16/21). Paired with teammate Fidan Khalizade and picked up her first doubles win in a 6-2 victory over Monmouth (3/28/21).

Before Wagner: Hailing from Belgrade, Serbia, Dakic has been playing tennis since she was eight years old. She constructed a resume of achievements in her home country. From 2016-18, in the U-16 division, she earned first place in the Open Championship in the first category in Novi Sad while picking up top honors in the Masters of Belgrade Tennis Association, which featured the best eight on the U16 Belgrade list. Additionally, she secured two second-place performances in the Open Championship for Sajmiste Tennis Club and Tennis Academy Tipsarevic. In the U-18 division, which spanned from 2018-20, Dakic won first place in the second category in the Open Championship of Belgrade (WINNER Tennis Club) while also securing the championship in the Open Championship in Novi Sad (Sajmiste Tennis Club). She also reached the quarterfinals in the National Championship in Serbia. Dakic was the winner of the Belgrade City Fellowship from the Young Talent Foundation. According to Universal Tennis Rating (UTR), Dakic was ranked ninth while her best tennis Europe ranking was 470 and is ranked 1654 according to International Tennis Federation (ITF).
