Staten Island, NY - On Friday, October 18, the Wagner College women's golf team took home team and individual wins at the one-day Seahawk Fall Classic tournament to conclude their fall season.

Maria Calleja fired a +2, 74 at the Green and White's home course en route to her first individual collegiate title. The freshman standout dripped in a long birdie putt on the 18th hole to seal her second finish in the top three at tournaments in the fall.

Many other Seahawks also stood out at La Tourette Golf Course. Seniors Elise Fujita and Aisha Rodriguez kept their scores in the 70s with a 78 and 79 respectively, good enough for 2nd and 3rd place overall individually. Fujita's 78 was her low-mark for the fall season.

Freshman Breannon Council shot an 85 and senior Ximena de la Garza shot an 87 to round out the Seahawks' efforts in their host tournament. 

Hofstra placed second with a final score of 337, 21 strokes behind Wagner at 316. 

Also participating in the tournament, junior Lily McNally shot her low-score of the fall with an 81. While her score didn't count towards the Seahawks team-score, she placed 5th overall individually.

Wagner was the only school to have all of their participants shoot sub-90. Juniors Emma Shelby, Josephine Sawyer, and Rileigh Leighton shot an 82, 83, and 87 respectively. 

The Seahawk Fall Classic was the final event on the Green and White's fall schedule. They'll be back in action in the Spring of 2025.
