Annapolis, MD - Sophomore Ximena de la Garza of the Wagner women's golf team shot a career-best 74 (+2) during round one at the Navy Spring Invitational. She finished tied for sixth place as the team finished in seventh place overall.
De la Garza paced the Seahawks across both days at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club, recording her career-best round on day one and a 75 (+3) on day two.
Graduate student Audrey Paradis came in 26th place, slotting her in as the second Seahawk on the overall leaderboard. She had a nine shot improvement from day one with a 76 (+4). Paradis finished the event 17-over.
Rounding out the Wagner competitors were sophomores Elise Fujita (+21) and Aisha Rodriguez (+26), and freshman Josephine Sawyer (+34).
The Seahawks will next prepare for the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships in Daytona Beach, FL. The three day tournament will begin on Sunday, April 23.
