West Long Branch, NJ - The Wagner women's tennis team concluded its season Friday with a non-conference dual against the Monmouth Hawks at the Outdoor Tennis Complex.
Junior Gabrielle Perraudin continues to dominate in singles competition. Perraudin finishes the regular season on a seven-match win streak. Her last loss came on March 18th against Northeast Conference (NEC) rival Sacred Heart.
The Seahawks dropped the doubles point. Perraudin and freshman Jasmine Lin were able to win #2 doubles, 7-6 (4), but not after the Hawks secured the first point of the dual.
In singles play, Monmouth came out hot, up 3-0 when Perraudin and sophomore Paula Ysabelle Uy gave the Green & White the momentum by both earning wins. Perraudin won 6-3, 6-4, while Uy won #3 singles, 6-4, 7-6 (6).
After Monmouth clinched the match at #6 singles, junior Tara Dakic netted Wagner their third point in #2 singles, defeating Hana McKinney in three sets, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3.
The Hawks would prevail in a tightly contested dual over the Seahawks, 4-3.
Next up, the Wagner women's tennis team will be competing in the Northeast Conference (NEC) tournament on Friday, April 14th. The Seahawks face off against Sacred Heart, first serve is set for 11:30 am.
