Fairfield, CT – The Wagner College women's lacrosse team dropped its first Northeast Conference (NEC) game of the season with an 11-5 defeat at Sacred Heart on Wednesday afternoon.
The Pioneers outscored the Seahawks 3-2 in the first quarter as senior
Megan Greco and sophomore
Ella Marino each netted goals. Wagner took a 2-1 lead on Marino's goal as the Pioneers went on to respond with two unanswered in the frame.
Sacred Heart opened the second quarter on a 2-0 run to take a 5-2 lead before sophomore
Katie Siverson found the back of the net to stop the run. The Pioneers went on to outscore the Seahawks 2-1 for the remainder of the frame to take a 7-4 lead into halftime.
Sacred Heart outscored Wagner 4-1 in the second half to preserve the 11-5 victory.
Megan Greco tallied a team-high six goals in the contest.

Wagner will be back in action on Saturday, April 15 when they host Merrimack at Hameline Field at 12:00 pm.
