Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College women's lacrosse team moved to 4-0 in Northeast Conference (NEC) play with a 15-7 win over Fairleigh Dickinson at Hameline Field on Saturday afternoon.
Wagner opened the game on a 6-0 run as five different goal scorers contributed to the run. Sophomores
Ella Marino and
Katie Siverson, junior
Kelsey Scheidel and seniors
Megan Greco and
Emily Wesoky all scored during the run. Wesoky was the lone Seahawk to tally two goals during the 6-0 run.
Wagner took a 6-1 lead into the second quarter and launched a 5-0 run to take an 11-1 lead. Graduate student
Nia Scott led the way for Wagner during the run with two goals while
Katie Siverson,
Kelsey Scheidel and
Ella Marino each tallied their second goal of the game. Wagner took an 11-2 lead into halftime.
Wagner outscored Fairleigh Dickinson 3-2 in the third quarter behind goals from Siverson and Scott as sophomore
Sophia Colver got on the scoresheet in the third.
Wagner's lone goal in the fourth belonged to senior
Sarah Shaughnessy.
The Seahawks out shot the Knights 35-14 as
Katie Siverson and
Nia Scott each recorded hat tricks.
Wagner will be back in action on Saturday, April 12 when they travel to Fairfield, CT to take on Sacred Heart at 3:00 pm.
