Women’s Lacrosse Falls To Hofstra

Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College women's lacrosse team suffered a 15-2 loss to Hofstra on Tuesday night at Hameline Field.

After a scoreless 6:19 to open the game, the Pride opened the scoring with two goals in the remaining 3:51 of the first frame.

The Pride extended its lead to 6-0 heading into halftime as they outscored the Seahawks 4-0 in the second quarter.

Wagner got its first goal of the contest with 1:04 remaining in the third after senior Megan Greco found the back of the net off of a pass from classmate Emily Wesoky.
Junior Kelsey Scheidel earned the second Wagner goal after retrieving a draw control and going straight to the net for the goal.

Graduate student goalkeeper Lauren DiStefano stopped nine shots in the contest, giving her 441 career saves. This moves her to third all-time in program history in saves. Sophomore Katie Siverson tallied three ground balls, two caused turnovers and two draw controls.

Wagner will be back in action when they open Northeast Conference (NEC) play at Central Connecticut State on Saturday, March 18 at 1:00 pm.
