Staten Island, NY - The Wagner women's tennis team hosted Saint Francis for a Northeast Conference (NEC) dual on Saturday night at the CSI Tennis Courts.
Playing with only 4 players due to injury, the shorthanded Seahawks defaulted two singles matches and the #3 doubles set before a ball was struck on the courts at College of Staten Island.
Junior Gabrielle Perraudin and sophomore Paula Ysabelle Uy battled hard in the doubles point, but would eventually lose 7-5. Saint Francis got wins at #1 and #2 singles to clinch before the remaining matches were played out.
Freshmen Jasmine Lin and Emma Lofstedt would fall in their singles matches 8-1, and 8-0.
The Red Flash would come away with a 7-0 win over the Seahawks, dropping Wagner's conference record to 1-1 on the season.
Next up, the Seahawks will host Binghamton at the CSI Tennis Courts this Friday, March 17th at noon.
Wagner tennis continues selling digital raffle tickets. Which can be purchased using the link above.
All ticket proceeds will go to the Wagner College men's and women's tennis programs.
