DeLand, FL – The Wagner women's lacrosse team suffered a 14-11 loss at Stetson on Wednesday afternoon to wrap up non-conference play.
In the first quarter, the Hatters outscored the Seahawks 5-1 after opening the game on a 3-0 run. Junior
Kelsey Scheidel tallied the lone goal for the Green & White in the first.
Wagner fought back in the second quarter, as they outscored the Hatters 5-2 to get within one goal at the half. After Stetson tallied a goal to make the game 6-2, Wagner launched a 3-0 run to bring the game to 6-5.
Senior
Megan Greco tallied two goals during the run as
Kelsey Scheidel tallied her second of the game. After Stetson scored to make the game 7-5, sophomore
Katie Siverson tallied a goal to bring the game to 7-6 at halftime.
The Hatters outscored the Seahawks 4-1 in the third quarter as sophomore
Sophia Colver tallied the lone goal of the third for the Green & White.
In the fourth quarter, Wagner brought Stetson's lead down to one on two different occasions but were unable to tie the game as Stetson went on to earn a 14-11 win.
Megan Greco led the way offensively for Wagner with four goals while
Kelsey Scheidel and
Emily Wesoky each tallied two goals.
Graduate student goalkeeper
Lauren DiStefano tallied 14 saves in the contest.
Wagner will be back in action on Saturday, March 25 when they travel to North Easton, MA to take on Stonehill at 12:00 pm.
