New Providence, NJ - The Wagner women's tennis team traveled to Seton Hall on Saturday to compete against the Pirates in a dual match at Murray Hill Tennis & Fitness.
The Pirates would prevail with a score of 6-1.
In doubles play, juniors Tara Dakic and Gabrielle Perraudin would come out victorious in their doubles match, beating Seton Hall's Arina Gumerova and Arabella Moen, 7-6 (4).
Wagner could not pull out the doubles point, sophomore Paula Ysabelle Uy and freshman Samantha Bentsianov fell to Oliwia Kempinski and Anastasia Petrova in straight sets, 6-2. As well as freshmen Jasmine Lin and Emma Lofstedt dropping their match against Hiba El Khaifi and Emily O'Donovan, 6-1.
In singles action, Gabrielle Perraduin earned the Seahawks a point by defeating Oliwia Kempinski, 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-8).
Tara Dakic battled hard against Arina Gumerova but would eventually fall in the #1 singles, 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (10-7).
Samantha Bentsianov put up a fight against Hiba El Khalifi but would be beaten in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1.
Seton Hall would finish the dual picking up the last three points with victory's by Arabella Moen taking down Paula Ysabelle Uy, Emily O'Donovan defeating Jasmine Lin, and Hili Kronzon winning against Emma Lofstedt, all in straight sets.
Next up, the women's tennis team will host Stonehill for a 6:00 PM dual against the Skyhawks on February 19th.
