Staten Island, NY – The Wagner women's lacrosse team dropped its first contest of the season as they fell to Drexel 12-5 at Hameline Field on Wednesday evening.
After falling behind 2-0, Wagner fought back with four unanswered goals, including three in the first quarter. Sophomore
Katie Siverson tallied two goals in the opening quarter along with senior
Emily Wesoky. Senior
Megan Greco capped off the 4-0 run with a goal of her own.
The Dragons responded with a 3-0 run of its own to regain the lead as they took a 5-4 lead heading into halftime.
In the third quarter, Drexel outscored Wagner 3-0 to take an 8-4 lead heading into the final frame.
Drexel outscored Wagner 4-1 in the fourth quarter to preserve the victory as sophomore
Ella Marino tallied the lone second half goal for the Green & White.

Lauren DiStefano stopped 14 shots in the contest to go along with two ground balls while classmate
Aileen Hannan notched five ground balls and three caused turnovers.
The Seahawks will be back in action on Saturday, February 18 when they travel to Fairfield at 1:00 pm.
