WATCH | Live Stats | Game Notes

Fairfield, CT – The Wagner men's basketball team will travel to Sacred Heart on Thursday, with tip-off set for 7:00 pm.

The Series

Wagner will be looking for the season sweep over the Pioneers on Thursday night after earning a 68-58 win over the Pioneers on January 22.

Sophomore Rob Taylor II and junior Rahmir Moore led the Seahawks with 19 points apiece.

Thursday's game marks the 46th all-time meeting between the schools, with Wagner holding a 28-17 edge in the head-to-head series. In the last 12 meetings, Wagner is 9-3 against Sacred Heart.

Brandon Brown Continues To Impress

Senior Brandon Brown once again earned NEC Prime Performer honors after posting his sixth double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds against St. Francis Brooklyn.

Brown is the NEC leader with 9.0 rebounds per game, which ranks 40th overall in the country and fifth nationally among guards.

Taylor's Improvement

Last week's NEC Player of the Week, Rob Taylor II has been one of the most efficient players in the conference.

Taylor led the NEC in field goal percentage in both December (.667) and January (.612) and has scored in double figures in four of six starts since being inserted into the starting lineup.

Compared to his freshman season, Taylor has more than tripled his averages for both points and rebounds.

Rahmir Moore Heating Up.

Junior Rahmir Moore is starting to heat up. Moore has averaged 18.5 points over his last two outings and hass converted on 60% or more of his shots in three straight games. In the first matchup against Sacred Heart, Moore converted on a career-high nine field goals on his way to a 19-point performance.

Scouting The Pioneers

Since the last meeting between the two teams, the Pioneers suffered consecutive losses against LIU and Stonehill. SHU is 4-5 in NEC play and 11-13 overall.

Painting The Postseason Picture

Halfway through the conference slate, Wagner sits at 4-4 in NEC action. With Stonehill ineligible for the NEC Tournament until the 2024-25 season, six teams are within 1 1/2 games of second place and in contention to host an NEC Tournament quarterfinal game heading into the final four weeks of the season.
