Bowling Hosts Senior Day As Totiana Miranda Places First Overall

Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College bowling team played host to three other colleges as seniors Totiana Miranda and Amanda Medvetz were honored. At the fourth annual 'Seahawk Invite', LIU, Adelphi, and Molloy were invited to compete during the two-day tournament.

Day one of the Seahawk Invite consisted of five traditional matches, and then would switch to five Baker-style matches to conclude the weekend.

Wagner finished the Seahawk Invite in third place, with an overall record of 6-4. On Saturday, Wagner picked up victories against LIU and Molloy in traditional play. The Seahawks defeated the Sharks 911-893, and then outscored the Lions 853-838. On Sunday, the Green & White won four of its Baker-style matches. The Seahawks beat Adelphi and LIU twice to finalize their weekend, highlighted by a 944-798 win against the Panthers.

Senior Totiana Miranda would finish in first atop 28 other competitors, averaging 190.6 pinfall per game. Miranda tallied total pinfalls of 141, 162, 214, 183, and a tournament-high 243 to bring her day total to 953, across the five traditional matches.

Sophomore Angelia Lubrano earned fifth, sophomore Samanatha McDermott placed 12th. Lubrano finished day one with a total pinfall of 917, with McDermott knocking over 761 pins during the first day of the event.

Junior AG Carhart finished 15th, senior Amanda Medvetz placed 16th, and junior Kristina Colon rounded out the Seahawks participants with a 22nd place finish. 

Wagner would score a day one total of 4,218 in the traditional matches, and then score 4411 in Baker-style scoring to end the weekend. The Seahawks total pinfall across at the Seahawk Invite was 8,629.

Next up, the Seahawks will travel to Somerset, NJ for the first Northeast Conference (NEC) Meet of the season, from Saturday, November 11 to Sunday, November 12.
