Newark, NJ – The Wagner College men's basketball team fell 72-51 at Seton Hall on Saturday afternoon at the Prudential Center.
Junior
Tyje Kelton led the Seahawks with nine points and six rebounds with juniors
Melvin Council Jr. and
Rob Taylor II, along with sophomore
Rob Taylor II chipping in eight points apiece.
The Seahawks jumped out to a 10-8 lead after a three by junior
Javier Ezquerra six minutes into the game and trailed 21-20 with 4:49 to play in the first half, but the Pirates finished the period with a 11-2 run to take a 32-22 lead at the midway mark.
From there, Seton Hall had a 40-29 advantage in the second half to move to 4-0 on the season, while the Seahawks fall to 1-3 this year.
Wagner held a 25-17 advantage in bench points and 12-4 advantage in fast break points throughout the contest.
Next up, Wagner will take on NJIT on Saturday, November 25, with tip-off set for 1:00 pm at the Spiro Sports Center.
