Staten Island, NY - Head coach Phil Casella of the Wagner women's soccer team has announced the addition of seven newcomers to the team for the 2024 season.
"These players have been assembled over the last year," Casella said. "They come from different parts of the country. It's a group of players that will represent Wagner College on and off the field to the fullest. They will have the opportunity of being impactful right away for us and help continue the success we had this past season. They will be great in the classroom and a great representation of Wagner Soccer. We can't wait to have them join our family."
Ceci Ippoliti - MF - Cumming, GA
Ceci was a four-year varsity athlete at Denmark High School. While there she was a 2022 Region 6-7A Champion and a 2023 GHSA 7A State Champion. Her 2023 team finished seventh in the nation. For her club team, Atlanta Fire United, she qualified for the 2023 ECNL Nationals North American Cup.
Abigail Marcello - GK - Havre de Grace, MD
A four-year varsity starter and captain during her senior season at Harford Technical High School, Abigail was named All-County in 2021 and 2022, All-Aegis in 2022 and an All-State honorable mention in 2022. Abigail played club soccer with Pipeline SC ECNL.
Deirdre Meberg - D/MF - Pine Bush, NY
In high school, Deirdre made Section 9 qualifiers in 2021 and 2022 while also being named a Class AA All-Star in both of those years. In those same two seasons, she was also named Section IX All-Section. With her club team, Force FC ECRL, she won the NYE State Cup Championship in 2022 and 2023. Deirdre also made the USYS Nationals in 2023 with Force FC ECRL.
Anayah Rivera - F - Newark, NJ
Anayah was named First Team Liberty Conference all four years of her high school career. She had been a varsity starter since her freshman season and was a captain since her sophomore campaign. She compiled 49 goals and 26 assists during her career at East Side High School. Anayah's club team is STA.
Keira Dall - D - Rochester, NY
Keira was a four-year scholar athlete, All-State recipient and All-Greater Rochester honoree during her career at Our Lady of Mercy School. She was a captain of the team and earned private parochial honors two years. For her club team, WNY Flash ECNL, she placed sixth in ECNL Nationals in 2021 and placed top-30 in the ECNL National Playoffs this past year.
Kara Kilpert - MF/F - Poughkeepsie, NY
Kara scored over 60 goals and assisted on over 60 goals during her four year run with the Spackenkill High School soccer team. In 2021 she was a Section 9 Class B All-Star. During her junior season, after contributing 25 goals and 18 assists, Kara was named Fourth Team All-State, a Section 9 All-Section honoree, a Section 9 Class B All-Star and a Poughkeepsie Journal Elite 11 recipient. With her club team, World Class FC, Kara compiled eight goals and six assists between 2022 and 2023.
Anna Shepard - F - East Greenbush, NY
The striker played club soccer with the Albany Alleycats. Anna has won multiple New York State Cups and has competed for multiple USYS Regional Championships during her time with the Alleycats. While at Columbia High School, Anna won back-to-back Section 2 AA Championships.
