Bonelli Earns Rookie Of The Week
Freshman
Jaylen Bonelli was named the Northeast Conference (NEC) Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week and third time overall this season.
A week after becoming the first true freshman to log 100 yards receiving since 2004, Bonelli recorded his second straight game of over 100 yards receiving. The first-year Seahawk hauled in seven catches for 126 yards against Central Connecticut on Saturday.
Bonelli becomes the first Wagner receiver with consecutive 100-yard performances since former All-NEC receiver John Williams, who surpassed the century mark against Robert Morris and and Saint Francis U in November 2016.
Bonelli is the lone freshman in the NEC with three Rookie of the Week awards on the season and will look to become just the second NEC Offensive Rookie of the Year in Wagner history. The only other player to win the award in Seahawk history is all-time great quarterback and NEC champion Nick Doscher, who earned the award in 2009.
On the season, Bonelli is Wagner's leading receiver with 391 yards this year. At 17.77 yards per reception, Bonelli ranks 32
nd in the country.
Gioia Leads The Way
Graduate student captain
John Gioia led the Wagner defense once again against CCSU on Saturday, earning NEC Prime Performer honors. Gioia recorded 14 total tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss and one sack against the Blue Devils.
Gioia averages 8.9 tackles per game, which leads the NEC and is 34
th in the country.

With 39.71 penalty yards per game, the Seahawks lead the NEC and are 12
th nationally.
Defending The Pass
Wagner allows 190.6 yards through the air per contest, which is good for 35th in the country.
The Magic Formula
Wagner is 2-0 on the season when leading at halftime and undefeated in the last two seasons when

The Series
The Skyhawks and Seahawks will meet for the fourth time on Saturday and second time since Stonehill joined the Northeast Conference.
Last season, Wagner suffered a 50-10 loss in Massachusetts.
Scouting The Skyhawks
Stonehill enters Saturday's contest with a 3-4 overall record and 2-2 mark in NEC action. The Skyhawks most recently earned a 22-19 victory over Sacred Heart.
