Women’s Soccer Falls At Army

West Point, NY – The Wagner women's soccer team dropped its second consecutive game, 5-0, at Army on Thursday night.

The Black Knights got on the board 5:30 into the contest when Dara Murray found the back of the net. 35 seconds later, Army doubled its lead when Dara Murray netted her second goal of the contest.

Midway through the first half, the Seahawks had a corner kick opportunity that led to the team's first shot on goal from reigning Northeast Conference (NEC) Player of the Week, senior Madison Carr.

Army took a 2-0 lead into the second half as sophomore goalkeeper Sam Hughes stopped two shots in the first half.

Dara Murray completed her hat trick in the 57th minute of the contest to extend Army's lead to 3-0. Midway through the second half, freshman Shea McGinty made her Wagner College debut in goal.

The Black Knights went on to add two more goals in the second half to claim a 5-0 victory over the Seahawks.

Wagner tallied four shots on goal in the contest while Shea McGinty made her first appearance for the Seahawks and recorded her first career save.

Wagner will be back in action on Sunday, September 11 when they travel to Albany for a 3:00 kickoff.
