Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College softball team dropped a 6-4 decision to Lafayette in its final non-conference game of the season on Wednesday.
After the Leopards took a 3-0 lead in the second, the Seahawks got on the board on an RBI single by senior
Mackenzie Vogler.
Lafayette added a run in the bottom half of the inning, but the Seahawks answered with an RBI single by junior
Bianca Worthy, which allowed senior
Makenzie Miller to score and cut the deficit to 4-2.
The Leopards added two more runs in the third to extend their lead to 6-2. Wagner rallied and added two runs in the fifth on an RBI double by sophomore
Keaghan Ward along with Vogler's second RBI of the day, but it wasn't enough, as Lafayette hung on for the win.

Nora Conway led Wagner with two hits apiece, as the Seahawks combined for eight hits throughout the contest.

Kayla Hooks suffered the loss, striking out four in six innings of work.
The Seahawks return to Grymes Hill this weekend for a pivotal NEC series against Saint Francis U this Saturday and Sunday.
