Staten Island, NY- The Wagner men's lacrosse team fell 8-6 to Merrimack on senior day at Hameline Field.
Benjamin Stewart and 
Aidan Clark recorded multi-goal games for the Seahawks while 
Eli Fisher and 
Stephen Dwyer netted a goal each. Goalkeeper 
Danny Brady made 14 saves in the loss. Wagner is now 3-8 (1-5 NEC) this season while Merrimack moves to 6-5 (3-3 NEC).
 
Merrimack opened the scoring with 7:22 left in the first quarter on a Tommy Rooney goal. The Warriors took a 2-0 lead three minutes later with a goal from Sean Black.
 
Eli Fisher was able to capitalize on a turnover and bury his third goal of the year to get the Seahawks on the board, making it a 2-1 game heading into the second quarter.
 
  
The Seahawks then knotted the game at 2-2 on a 
Benjamin Stewart goal. 
Patrick Caldwell recorded the assist.
 
  
Merrimack then rattled off two straight goals to head into the half with a 4-2 lead.
 
The Warriors added two more goals from Tommy Rooney and Drew Hailey to open the second half. Stewart put an end to the run with a man-up goal, receiving the feed from 
Aidan Clark. Stewart has tallied six goals in four games this year. Then with under a minute left in the third period, Clark netted Wagner's second man-up goal of the game to make it 6-4 Warriors heading into the final 15 minutes of play.
 
  
Christian Thomas made it a 7-4 game just over a minute into the final frame for Merrimack. Clark then scored his second goal of the game a minute later to bring the game back within two at 7-5. The sophomore now has a team-leading 22 goals on the season.
 
  
Christian Thomas scored his third goal of the game with 8:34 remaining to take an 8-5 lead. Wagner closed out the scoring on the afternoon with a 
Stephen Dwyer goal. The senior has now recorded a goal in 16 straight games dating back to last season and has 20 goals this season.
 
 
The Seahawks close out the 2022 season next Saturday at Bryant with faceoff set for 12:00 p.m. in Smithfield, RI.
