Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College softball team earned its second sweep of the season over Saint Peter's, defeating the Peacocks 6-3 in game one before earning a 3-2 walk-off victory in game two on Tuesday afternoon in the Seahawks' home opener.
With the sweep, Wagner moves to 4-0 on the season against the Peacocks.

After the Peacocks took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, Wagner quickly responded and tied the game on an RBI double by senior
Penelope Russ, before taking a 3-1 lead in the second inning on an RBI single by freshman
Kate Wolf and a sacrifice fly by senior
Natalie Del Ponte.
Saint Peter's got within a run in the third inning, but the Seahawks put the game away in the fifth and sixth inning.

Nora Conway in the fifth inning re-established Wagner's two-run lead at 4-2 in the fifth inning, before back-to-back home runs by Wolf and Del Ponte in the sixth gave Wagner a 6-2 advantage.
The Peacocks added a run in the seventh, but it wasn't enough, as the Seahawks earned the 6-3 victory.
Senior
Eve Harvey earned the victory in the circle, striking out four batters in six innings, with senior
Kayla Hooks also seeing action.
Wolf led the way offensively with three hits and two RBIs, with Conway also recording three hits on the day.
As a team, the Seahawks combined for 11 hits while holding Saint Peter's to eight hits throughout the contest.

After a defensive battle early on, the Seahawks earned the walk-off win in the bottom of the seventh inning.
After the Peacocks took a 2-0 lead in the top of the sixth inning, Wagner was down to its final three outs.
A one-out double by Conway gave the Seahawks their first base runner of the inning. Down to the final out, an error by Saint Peter's allowed senior
Mackenzie Vogler to reach base and advanced Conway to third.
Next up, senior
Haley Peaslee was hit by a pitch to load the bases and move the tying run into scoring position.
After Wolf was also hit by a pitch, the stage was set for Del Ponte, who hit the ball down the right field line to bring home two runs and send Wagner home victorious.
In the circle, sophomore
Scarlett Lloyd earned the victory after striking out four batters in a complete game win while only allowing three hits and no earned runs during the contest.
Next up, the Seahawks will host Merrimack this Saturday and Sunday for a three-game Northeast Conference (NEC) series. First pitch on Saturday is set for 1:00 pm.
