Men's Lacrosse Falls 12-6 To St. Joseph's On Saturday

Staten Island, NY- The Wagner men's lacrosse team dropped its conference home opener 12-6 to St. Joseph's on Saturday at Hameline Field.

The Seahawks are now 2-5 on the season and 0-2 in NEC play. St. Joseph's moves to 7-2 with a 2-0 record in conference play.
 
The Hawks opened the scoring with a Carter Page goal. Wagner got even four minutes later when Stephen Dwyer found the back of the net.

   
St. Joseph's quickly added two goals to take a 3-1 lead. Aidan Clark scored for Wagner to make it 3-2.

 
The Hawks added another goal with eight seconds to go in the first to make it 4-2.
 
In the second period, Matt Bohmer added his second consecutive goal to go up 5-2 before Carson Skinner answered for the Seahawks to make it a two-goal game.

   
Colin Reich and Carter Page then added two goals for St. Joseph's to give the Hawks a 7-3 advantage with just under seven minutes to play in the half.
 
Clark scored his second of the day to bring the Hawks' lead to 7-4.

 
Shane Fable added a goal with 38 seconds before the break to make it 8-4 at the halfway point.

The Seahawks opened the second half scoring on a Tyler Lawton goal. The Hawks responded with two more Bohmer goals to make it 10-5 with 11:19 left in the third period. Patrick Caldwell netted a goal with 3:43 to go in the frame to close out the third quarter scoring.

   
St. Joseph's scored less than a minute into the final 15 minutes of action. Carter Page added another goal for the Hawks four minutes later to make it a 12-6 game with 10:14 to go.
 
Goalkeeper Danny Brady made 13 saves in cage for the Seahawks. Wagner put 18 shots on goal and caused 10 turnovers on the afternoon.
 
The Seahawks are back in action next Saturday at Hameline Field to face Sacred Heart at 5:00 p.m.
