Fairfield, CT - The Wagner College women's tennis team opened the first of five matches this week, falling to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) members, Fairfield, 5-2, on Tuesday afternoon.

With the loss, the Seahawks fall to 3-6 overall on the season while the Stags improve to 5-8.

The Green & White put forth valiant efforts in their doubles matches. At No. 1, the pairing of Tara Dakic and Gabrielle Perraudin took Scarlett Hutchinson and Francesca Karman to the limit before Hutchinson/Karman edged the Seahawk pairing, 7-5, in the tiebreaker to win the match, 7-6.
