Women's Bowling Concludes Second Season Of Competition At Northeast Roundup

New Castle, DE- The Wagner College women's bowling team concluded their second season of competition on Sunday at the Third Annual Northeast Roundup, hosted by Wilmington University. 
 
Overall, Wagner finished sixth over the two-day competition.

Opening Statement: 

 
"Despite the outcomes, I am extremely proud of our team this entire season. For a second-year program, we have made tremendous progress. Today, we posted our best baker day as a program, averaging 183.8 overall per game. I believe the future is bright for us and we will work hard in the offseason to achieve our goal of making the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship in 2022-23." 
 
Baker Match #1 - Wagner 1010, Wilmington 1035
  • The Seahawks squared off against the hosts to start the competition on Sunday. 
  • Wagner trailed by 11 pins after the first game (196-185) before Wilmington only added a pin to its total after the Green & White rolled a 213 to Wilmington's 214. 
  • The Wildcats outshot Wagner 224-184 in game three in building a 52-pin advantage.
  • Wagner narrowed the gap in game four, trimming the deficit to 48 after rolling a 196 and finished up strong, outshooting Wilmington, 232-201, in the final game. 
Baker Match #2 - Wagner 887, Mercyhurst 982
  • The Seahawks carried their strong performance into their second match of the afternoon against Mercyhurst. 
  • The Green & White were down by five pins after the first game (188-183) before the Lakers rolled a 205 in upping its lead to 31 pins. 
  • Mercyhurst added 14 pins to its overall lead before rolling a 195 and 205 to Wagner's 164 and 186 to claim the match. 
Baker Match #3 - Wagner 948, Bloomfield 1017
  • Wagner jumped out to an early lead over Bloomfield, as the Seahawks shot 228 to 153 in game one. 
  • The Bears got to within 35 after outshooting the Seahawks, 213-173. 
  • Bloomfield took the lead after rolling a 247 in game three while Wagner fired off a 210. 
  • The Bears outperformed the Seahawks in game four, 227-158, before the Seahawks closed out the match shooting 179-177.
Baker Match #4 - Wagner 832, Saint Francis U 857
  • In the final match of the season for the Seahawks, they were pitted against NEC rival, Saint Francis U. 
  • The Red Flash jumped out to a 535-470 lead after the first three games. 
  • The Seahawks did outshoot the Red Flash, 165-144 and 197-178, to close out their season.
