Jersey City, NJ – The Wagner College softball team earned a midweek sweep over Saint Peter's on Wednesday. In game one, the Seahawks earned a 4-3 extra inning victory before shutting out the Peacocks in game two's 6-0 win.

After the Seahawks loaded the bases in the third inning, sophomore
Keaghan Ward put the ball in play and gave Wagner the lead with the RBI on the fielder's choice.
Next up, senior
Natalie Del Ponte's sac fly gave Wagner a 2-0 lead.
After the Peacocks added a run in the fourth, freshman
Kate Wolf's RBI double in the top of the fifth brought home Del Ponte to extend the lead to 3-1.
In the bottom of the sixth, Saint Peter's tied the game at 3-3 with a two-run home run to send the game into extra innings.
In the top of the eighth, a double by senior
Mackenzie Vogler set up Wagner with a runner in scoring position to lead off the inning. Next up, Vogler scored on an error, which proved to be the winning run for Wagner.
In the circle, senior
Eve Harvey earned the complete game win for her third victory of the season, striking out six in eight innings.
Wagner combined for eight hits throughout the contest, with senior
Bianca Worthy leading the way with two hits.

Sophomore
Scarlett Lloyd turned in a dominant performance, only allowing two hits in a complete game shutout while striking out eight batters to earn the victory in the circle. Offensively, the sophomore collected three hits and one RBI.
Offensively, the Seahawks took the lead in the fourth inning on an RBI single by senior
Makenzie Miller. One inning later, RBIs by Wolf, Lloyd, and Worthy brought home four more runs to extend the lead to 5-0.
In the sixth, another RBI single by Wolf made it 6-0, as Wagner earned its first doubleheader sweep of the season.
The Seahawks combined for 13 hits, with Lloyd and Ward both having three hits apiece, while Ward and sophomore
Samantha Tran both had multi-hit games as well.
Wagner returns on Sunday to take on Manhattan, with first pitch set for noon.
