Postgame Interviews
Highlights

Staten Island, NY –
The Wagner women's lacrosse team defeated Colgate, 13-8 on Saturday afternoon for the first victory of the Kelly McPartland era at Hameline Field.

The Seahawks put a stamp on the contest when they outscored the Raiders 3-1 in the opening frame. Junior Megan Greco tallied the first two goals of the quarter before senior and reigning NEC Co-Player of the Week Kasey Dorney got on the scoresheet from a free-position chance to give Wagner a 3-0 lead. Freshman Kendra Hall and graduate student Madeline Seims tallied assists in the opening frame.

The Green & White opened the second stanza on a 3-0 run thanks in part to goals from Greco and Madeline Seims. Greco's third goal of the game came off an assist from graduate student Victoria Tucci before Seims' first goal of the quarter came off of a free-position opportunity. The Raiders cut into the Wagner lead with a 3-0 lead of their own as the score became 6-4 before Seims tallied her third goal of the quarter off an assist from Kasey Dorney as Wagner took a 7-4 lead into the intermission.

The Seahawks outscored the Raiders 3-0 in the third quarter behind goals from Dorney, Seims, and Greco as all three finished with at least three goals. Greco and Seims each finished with four goals as Dorney finished with a hat trick.
The Sehawks expanded their lead with a 3-0 run to open the final stanza as juniors Ally Turner and Sarah Shaugnessy tallied their first goals of the season. Colgate ended the game on 4-0 run but it wasn't enough as the Seahawks claimed the victory at Hameline Field.

Along with her four goals, Madeline Seims dished out one assist, and had one caused turnover while Greco had one ground ball and two caused turnovers. Kasey Dorney scooped five ground balls and caused three turnovers to go along with her hat trick. Senior goalkeeper Lauren DiStefano stopped 12 shots in her second victory in between the pipes this season.

The Seahawks will have the next 11 days off before hosting Siena at Hameline Field on Wednesday, March 23 at 7:00 P.M.
