Brooklyn, NY - The Wagner women's basketball team embarks on a two-game road trip, beginning on Saturday afternoon, as the Seahawks travel across the Verrazzano Narrows Bridge into Brooklyn to square off against the LIU Sharks.
WAGNER ATHLETICS SPECTATOR POLICY...
  • In accordance with New York State and New York City guidelines the Wagner College Athletic Department has announced the following spectator policy for all indoor athletic competitions:
  • All guests will be required to wear masks
  • All guests over 11 years old must show proof of vaccination 
  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by a vaccinated adult
  • Physical tickets must be picked up on game day (can still be purchased and reserved in advance)

OPENING TIP...
  • The Green & White will look for the season split after dropping a 53-50 decision to the Sharks back on January 21 at the Spiro Sports Center. 
  • The Green & White opened the month of February with a decisive 78-62 home win over Central Connecticut as four players scored in double-figures, led by Emilija Krista Grava's game-high 23-point outing. 
  • The Sharks are currently on a three-game winning streak after earning a 50-46 road win at Sacred Heart on Thursday evening. 
  • Over the three games, the Sharks have outscored their opponents by seven points per game. 

SERIES BREAKDOWN AGAINST LIU...
  • Saturday's contest with LIU will mark the 90th all-time meeting between the two New York City-based institutions. 
  • Wagner holds a 47-42 edge in the head-to-head series with LIU looking for the season sweep of the Seahawks. 
  • LIU picked up a 53-50 road victory over the Green & White two weeks ago. 
  • Kem Nwabudu led the way for the Seahawks with 12 points in 24 minutes of action while Krista Grava (11pts/5rebs) and Thybulle (10 points) also contributed to Wagner's offense. 

SCOUTING THE SHARKS... 
  • The Sharks are looking to extend their win streak to four straight games after earning a 50-46 road victory at Sacred Heart on Thursday evening. 
  • LIU will also look for the season sweep of the Seahawks for the first time since the 2016-17 season, when LIU defeated Wagner, 69-64, in Brooklyn on January 23 and again on February 27, 63-58, at the Spiro Sports Center. 
  • Brandy Thomas is the team's leading scorer, pouring in 11.3 points per game while also leading the Sharks in rebounds (5.7 rpg) and steals (2.1 spg). 
  • Kennedy Taylor and Thomas are tied for the team lead in assists, dishing out 1.8 per contest while Tayra Eke is leading the way with 1.8 blocks per game.
  • Collectively, the Sharks are scoring 54.1 points per game on 34.3 percent shooting from the field and 32.6 percent from three-point range.

  • As of Feb. 2, head coach Terrell Coburn ranks ninth among first-year head coaches with a .579 win percentage.
