Men's Tennis Falters At Fairfield

Trumbull, CT -  The Wagner College men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to Fairfield on Sunday evening from the Tennis Club of Trumbull. 

With the loss, the Seahawks fall to 1-6 on the season while the Stags move to 3-4. 

Fairfield secured the first point of the match by taking No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. The pairing of Tejasvi Mehra and Omar Loutfy at No. 1 and Karan Venkatramana and Lucas Darling at No. 3 put forth a valiant effort before the quartet dropped identical 6-3 decisions. 

In singles action, the Seahawks were in each contest, as No. 1 and No. 3 singles each featured a tiebreaker in the first set while Rodrigo Perez match against Charlie Morkel at No. 2 went to three games. 

Loutfy rallied in the second set of his contest at No. 4 play against Keean Shah, before falling 6-3; 6-4. 

Wagner returns to the courts on Sunday, March 6 ad Northeast Conference (NEC) resumes for the Seahawks, as they welcome the Merrimack College Warriors to Staten Island for a 6:00 p.m. match at the CSI Tennis Courts.
