Women's Bowling Wins A Pair Of Traditional Matches On Day Two Of Hawk Flight Invite

Hamilton, NJ – The Wagner College women's bowling team went 2-3 over their five traditional matches on the second day of competition at the Hawk Flight Invitational, hosted by Monmouth University on Saturday at Hamilton Lanes.
 
Traditional Match #1 - Wagner 864, Monmouth 915
  • The Seahawks squared off against the host Hawks in the first match of the day on Saturday. 
  • America Carhart led the way for the Green & White rolling a team-high 205 while Kristina Colon was next at 182 followed by Lauren Ruth Sarreal at 170. 
 
Traditional Match #2 - Wagner 919, LIU 966
  • Wagner moved on to face a familiar foe in the LIU Sharks. 
  • Totiana Miranda paced Wagner, rolling a team-best 241 while Sarreal was just four pins off of recording a 200-game, finishing at 196. 
 
Traditional Match #3 - Wagner 889, St. Francis Brooklyn 877
  • Moving on in the day, the Seahawks saw their second straight conference rival in the St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers. 
  • Wagner was able to edge out the Terriers by 12 pins, as Miranda continued her torrid performance, leading the team with a high score of 193. 
  • Colon bounced back to finish at 189 while Sarreal posted a 180 to help lead the Seahawks to their first win of the day. 
 
Traditional Match #4 - Wagner 844, New Jersey City University (NJCU) 750
  • Wagner carried that winning momentum into their match with the Gothic Knights, as Colon led the way with a 181. 
  • Miranda (178), Sarreal (176), and Medvetz (165) rounded out the performances for the Seahawks as they earned their second straight win. 
 
Traditional Match #5 - Wagner 968, Wilmington University (DE) 1,004
  • The final traditional match of the afternoon saw the Seahawks take on Wilmington University. 
  • Sarreal and Miranda both found their strides and on the approach, as the duo recorded scores of 224 and 212, respectively. 
  • Colon followed them with a 189 while Medvetz (172) and Kaitlyn Gonsalves (171) finished up the day for the Seahawks.
 
Wagner concludes the three-day Hawk Flight Invite with a traditional match against Bloomfield College before a Best of 7 Baker after knowing what seed they will be.
