Norfolk, VA – Senior
Eve Harvey only allowed one hit through the first six innings, but it wasn't enough, as Norfolk State earned a 2-0 victory on a walk-off home run by Kenna Higa on Friday to start the Battle at the Bay Tournament.
Wagner's first baserunner of the contest came in the first inning, as sophomore
Keaghan Ward reached on an NSU error. In the second inning, the second of three errors by Norfolk State allowed junior
Bianca Worthy to reach base.
The Seahawks, however, were unable to capitalize on the mistakes, as Norfolk State's Joanna Valejo and Alexis Robinson combined for a no-hitter to give the Spartans the victory.
Harvey finished the day with three strikeouts and only two hits allowed.
The Battle at the Bay Tournament continues tomorrow, as the Seahawks take on Morgan State at 12 pm and Hampton at 2:00 pm.
