Staten Island, NY - The Wagner women's tennis team hosted Rider University on Friday at College of Staten Island.

Despite wins at #1, #4, and a sweep of the doubles matches, the Seahawks fell 4-3.

Tara Dakic won convincingly at #1 singles for Wagner, 6-2, 6-0 over Andrea Sydow. Wagner's Samantha Bentsianov took the #4 match 6-4, 6-3, over Samantha Killin.

Wagner took all three doubles matches to secure the doubles point. The match result came down to a third set tiebreaker on court #5 where Paula Ysabelle Uy dropped the first set 6-4 to Jett Coetzee. Uy won the second set in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (5), but Coetzee took the third set super-breaker, 10-7 for Rider.

The contest against Rider was the last of the fall season for the Seahawks.
