This Week In Wagner Athletics; Six Teams In Action As Two More Get Underway

Staten Island, NY- Here is a look at the Wagner Athletics events for this week.
 
Football
  • The Seahawks will travel to Ivy League member Columbia on Saturday, October 8, at 1:00 pm, for their final non-conference game of the season.
  • Six conference games will round out the 2022 schedule, with home contests against LIU (October 21) and Sacred Heart (November 12) and road games at Merrimack (October 15), Central Connecticut (October 29), Stonehill (November 5), and Duquesne (November 19).

Men's Water Polo
  • The Seahawks will travel to Morgantown, WV to take on Mercyhurst, McKendree, Salem and Gannon in conference contests on October 8 and October 9.
  • The Seahawks earned its first MAWPC victory of the season when they defeated Navy 15-14 on Sunday afternoon.
 
Field Hockey
  • Wagner will host Saint Francis U on Friday, October 7 and Stonehill on Sunday, October 9.
  • The Seahawks fell 2-0 to Brown on Sunday, October 2.
  • The Seahawks earned its first NEC victory of the season on Friday, September 30 when they defeated Merrimack 7-0.
  • Graduate student goalkeeper Daisy Ruhle earned her first career shutout in the victory over Merrimack while classmate Julia Cruces Pastorino tallied four goals.
  • Julia Cruces Pastorino was named NEC Offensive Player of the Week while Daisy Ruhle was named NEC Defensive Player of the week, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon.
 
 
Soccer
  • Wagner will continue NEC play when they travel to Brookville, NY to take on LIU on Sunday, October 9.
  • The Seahawks celebrated senior day with a 4-2 victory over St. Francis Brooklyn on Sunday, October 2.
  • The victory was the first NEC victory of the season for Wagner.
 

Men's Tennis
  • The Wagner College men's tennis team will be opening its fall season at the ITA Regionals this Friday, September 30.

Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving
  • The Wagner swimming & diving teams will open the season at Fairfield on Friday, October 7 and Saturday, October 8.
