Loretto, PA – The Wagner field hockey will look to extend its winning streak to four straight as Northeast Conference (NEC) play begins Friday with the Seahawks traveling to Saint Francis U. 


Last Time Out for Wagner…

  • Behind two goals from senior Agustina Deharbe, Wagner extended its winning streak to three after posting a 4-1 home victory over Quinnipiac on Sunday afternoon. 
  • The Seahawks jumped out to a 2-0 lead as both scores came 20 seconds apart midway through the second quarter. Sophomore Emma Brushingham tallied her first goal of the season and while Deharbe netted her first goal of the contest.
  • The visitors cut the deficit in half, 2-1, in the third before freshman Liselotte Koop netted her third goal of the season. 
  • Deharbe capped off the scoring her second tally of the contest with just 20 seconds remaining in regulation. 
  • For Koop and Deharbe, it marked their third goals of the season while senior Julia Cruces Pastorino handed out her first assist of the year.

Seahawks Sweep NEC Weekly Honors…
  • Following strong performances in a pair of victories this past weekend, the Northeast Conference (NEC) announced on Monday afternoon that Deharbe and senior Daisy Ruhle along with freshman Liselotte Koop swept the league's weekly awards.
  • Deharbe earned NEC Offensive Player of the Week after tallying three goals and six points this weekend. The Buenos Aires, Argentina native currently ranks fourth in points (9), sixth, in points per game (1.12), and fourth in goals (4) in the NEC.
  • After being named as an NEC Prime Performer last week, Ruhle claimed her first Defensive Player of the Week award. The Marlow, England native allowed two goals in two victories while stopping 12 shots. The senior captain currently leads the NEC in save percentage (.817) and ranks second in goals against average (1.84), saves (58), and saves per game (7.25).
  • Koop continues to get off to a fast start to her career on Grymes Hill. Following an appearance on Prime Performers list a week ago, the Hattem, Netherlands native contributed six points in Wagner's victories over Towson and Quinnipiac this week. Against the Tigers on Friday, Koop netted a goal and added two assists in the 3-1 road triumph. On Sunday, she scored her third goal of the year. Koop leads the Seahawks in minutes, points, and assists. She is the conference leader in assists and assists per game (0.75).

About Saint Francis U...
  • The Red Flash fell to 3-6 on the season after falling to Miami (Ohio) on Sunday afternoon.
  • SFU, currently looking to snap a two-game losing streak, will look for their first win since rattling off three straight in the early part of the month with victories over Lock Haven (3-2), Drexel (2-1) and Ohio (2-1). 
  • Eva Valentini is the team's leader in goals (5), points (11), shot attempts (31) and shots on target (15). 
  • Ella Maillie has dished out a team-leading three assists while stringing together ten shot attempts, good for second behind Valentini. 
  • Chloe South has started every game for the Red Flash, making 58 saves on 127 shots faced while posting a .734 save percentage.

  • The Seahawks will close out their weekend with a home non-conference tilt against the University of Vermont on Sunday, October 4 at noon at the Wagner College Field Hockey Complex.
  • The Green & White will resume NEC play on Friday, October 8 at LIU in Brookville, NY at 2:00 P.M.
