Staten Island, NY – Following a two-game road swing, the Wagner women's soccer team returns to Hameline Field for the first of four straight home fixtures, beginning with Sunday's afternoon contest as the Seahawks play host to the UAlbany Great Danes. 

Opening Kicks…
  • Wagner will look to halt a three-match losing streak after dropping its most recent outing, 4-0, on the road at Lehigh on Thursday evening. 
  • UAlbany picked up its first win of the 2021 fall season after defeating Yale, 4-3, at home. 
  • The Green & White is 0-1-0 this season against teams from the America East conference, dropping a 1-0 decision on the road at NJIT back on September 2. 
  • The Great Danes are 0-1-0 on the year against Northeast Conference opponents, falling to the defending league champions, Central Connecticut, 2-1, back on August 26 in New Britain, CT. 

All-Time Series…
  • Sunday's contest marks just the sixth all-time meeting between the two New York-based programs, with the overall head-to-head series even at 2-2-1. 
  • These two clubs last met on August 31, 2004 in Albany, with the Great Danes edging out the Seahawks, 2-1 in overtime. 
  • The last time both teams squared off on Staten Island dates back to September 1, 2003, where the Seahawks were victorious 1-0.

  • The Wagner women's soccer team fell to Patriot League members Lehigh, 4-0, on Thursday evening at the Ulrich Sports Complex. 
  • Junior forward Madison Carr took a team-leading three shots for the visitors.
  • Freshman goalkeeper Sam Hughes made her first career start and finished the evening with 12 saves on 32 shots faced.

  • The Great Danes enter play on Sunday with a 1-3-1 overall record
  • UAlbany earned its first win of the 2021 fall campaign, edging out Yale, 4-3, on Thursday night 
  • In the contest against the Bulldogs, Shannon Litchfield, Jasmine Colbert and Olivia Piraino each tallied a goal in the victory. UAlbany's fourth goal of the match came via an own goal that was instigated by Jada Colbert. 
  • Colbert leads the team with two goals and five points through the first five games of the season.
