Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College softball team earned a 7-6 victory in game two of Thursday afternoon's doubleheader against Sacred Heart after dropping the first game by a score of 4-3.
With the split, the Seahawks now sit at 12-16 on the season and 8-16 in Northeast Conference (NEC) play, while the Pioneers now stand at 11-21 overall and 9-15 in conference play.

The Seahawks jumped out to a big lead early on and held on for the victory, fighting off the Pioneers' late comeback attempt.

Hooks earned her second win of the season after pitching 4.2 innings, while Harvey earned the save. The two juniors combined for five strikeouts on the afternoon.
Vogler and Van Orman led the Seahawks with two RBIs apiece, while Bender, Del Ponte, and Van Orman each recorded multi-hit games.

The Seahawks took the lead early in the first game of the afternoon, as a two-run single by Miller in the third got the Seahawks on the board and made it 2-0.
Next up, Van Orman delivered with an RBI single to left in bringing home the third run of the inning for the Green and White.
After scoring one run in the fifth, the Pioneers tied the game in the sixth inning and took a 4-3 lead on a Caroline Kruger RBI double in the seventh inning to earn the victory.
In the circle, Harvey went the distance, but suffered the loss despite striking out four batters in seven innings.
Next up, the Seahawks will travel to Central Connecticut on Saturday and Sunday for a four-game series.
